ALMARA

producer of butyl compounds

Almara was established in 2019 and is still a family owned company.

We become a leading producer of butyl compounds in CEE.

We are cooperating with all major butyl tape and composites manufacturers in our region.

Constant growth allows for the expansion of production facilities and   RD laboratory to full file market needs and requirements.

our philosophy

Top Quality and Innovation

Almara focuses on delivering top-quality products precisely tailored to the individual needs of customers and offered at competitive prices. A dynamic annual revenue growth of over 10%, driven by the introduction of new products and expansion into export markets, underscores the effectiveness of our approach. As an OEM supplier, our products, though less recognizable in the consumer market, are key components in applications such as ridge tapes, tile seals, or window installation tapes.

By efficiently leveraging production scale and implementing advanced technologies, we optimize costs while maintaining the highest quality standards. We use waste heat from production processes to heat our facilities, increasing energy efficiency. Our packaging is reusable and collected from customers, reducing costs and waste while relieving clients of the need to organize disposal. This adds value for our customers, who no longer need to worry about the disposal of additional packaging waste. Our production process allows waste to be recycled back into production, further minimizing environmental impact. Investments in modern technologies, process automation, and collaboration with trusted suppliers ensure price stability and the availability of key components.

Every stage of production is meticulously monitored. The process begins with order placement and thorough raw material inspections, with full batch number documentation. Process parameters are then monitored using a SCADA system. The final stage involves testing the properties of the finished product, such as peel resistance, density, and melt flow index. Validation also includes aging tests to ensure product durability and reliability. This rigorous approach guarantees consistently high product quality and provides customers with confidence that each batch meets their expectations, with precise traceability of raw materials used in the final products.

Quality Assurance and Reliability

Each production batch is registered at the raw material ordering stage, with documentation including complete process data and quality test results. Samples of the finished product are stored for extended periods, enabling full transparency and quality verification at any time.

An example of our commitment is a project in the fireproof materials sector, where we identified critical bottlenecks and processing challenges. By utilizing a material with higher thermal stability, we eliminated the issue of film shrinkage under heat, simultaneously improving print quality and ensuring better adhesion. The client was able to focus on the functionality of their product, while we delivered comprehensive solutions, including optimization of extrusion, cutting, and print durability processes. Collaboration with component suppliers allowed precise adaptation of our products to market requirements.

Experience and Expertise

Our products are created through a combination of the highest quality raw materials and unique specialist knowledge. The R&D team members are also academic researchers, and the company collaborates with Polish universities, fostering innovation and the highest standards. Three decades of experience in the elastomer industry, combined with partnerships with market leaders such as Exxon and BASF, enable us to meet the most demanding technical standards and continuously introduce innovations. Our solutions are used across a wide range of industries, as evidenced by numerous implementations and client successes.

Mission and Technological Support

Our mission is to create innovative butyl compounds that help our clients achieve their goals. We assist in developing products with new functionalities, providing technological support at every stage of implementation. We build long-term relationships based on trust, collaboration, and shared success.

Work

what we do

The main products of Almara are compounds based on butyl rubber, which are used in the production of roof seals, insulation materials, and industrial tapes. They are characterized by exceptional flexibility and excellent resistance to atmospheric factors. Thanks to the ability to precisely adapt to the individual needs of customers, they are an ideal choice for many industrial applications.

Our portfolio includes standard and specialized compounds tailored to various applications:

  • Flame-retardant materials – self-extinguishing or limited-flammability materials, offering additional safety in applications requiring high fire resistance.
  • Intumescent compounds – expand when exposed to fire, creating a protective char that insulates the underlying material and prevents the spread of fire.
  • Water-swelling compounds – materials for static sealing. They increase in volume upon contact with water, effectively sealing gaps.
  • Conductive compounds – capable of conducting both electricity and heat.
  • Reinforced compounds – composite materials utilizing fibers.

We offer two basic types of packaging:

  • Butyl in drums – standard drums with a smooth sidewall, 200 L capacity, typical fill volume of 170 L, weight depends on the density of the packed material.
  • Extruded butyl on pallets (so-called “sausages”) – A pallet consists of 5 pallet extensions on a Euro pallet, separated by OSB sheets. Layers of butyl on pallets are separated by anti-adhesive foil. The packaging is reusable.

We offer butyl in black or gray, which are the most commonly chosen by customers due to their versatility and adaptability to various applications. Black ensures a classic look for sealing tapes, while gray helps differentiate it from bituminous compounds. Upon request, other color versions are available, and fireproof compounds are typically available in red.

Technological Support

We provide comprehensive technological and production support, including a wide range of laboratory tests, measurements, and technical consultancy for external partners. For instance, we have assisted our clients in optimizing the settings of production lines for our materials, which increased their production efficiency, and advised on the selection of lamination materials to improve the durability of final products. We manufacture dies, forming plates for heads, and auxiliary parts for extruding butyl compounds. We assist in adapting the production line settings and extrusion conditions to our compounds, as well as providing advice on the selection of cooperating elements such as anti-adhesive foils or lamination materials.

Laboratory

quality R&D

Quality control and research activities are the pillars of our company, ensuring customers receive products of consistently high quality. This enables our partners to benefit from uninterrupted, efficient production processes and reliable outcomes. Every stage of our operations – from raw material procurement, through production, to sales – adheres to strict procedures that meet the highest industry standards. Our products are distinguished by their durability and reliability, minimizing the risk of failures and maximizing operational efficiency.

Laboratory Equipment

Almara has a modern, well-equipped laboratory that enables comprehensive quality testing to be performed independently. Each of our testing methods serves a specific purpose, providing insights into the key properties of materials.

  • ISO 1133: Measures melt flow rate (MFR/MVR) to analyze the processing parameters of plastics and their behavior during extrusion.
  • ISO 289: Measures Mooney viscosity, enabling the evaluation of elasticity and processability of elastomers in their uncured state.
  • Finat FTM 8: Assesses static shear resistance, indicating a material’s ability to maintain adhesion under prolonged loading.
  • Finat FTM 18: Evaluates dynamic shear resistance, determining durability and reliability in environments subjected to variable mechanical forces.
  • Finat FTM 1: Tests peel resistance at a 180° angle, crucial for assessing adhesion durability in demanding applications.
